Fire Prevention Week

Fire Safety Week is observed in October and is always a subject I like to touch on because of all the fires we have out here in California. We talk a lot about how to be safe around fires and how it is always good to have a plan! You can learn more about fire prevention week {here}.

To teach all about fire safety, we read books, write about how to stay safe, make a fire truck craft, and sing some songs! fire safety craft and activities Here are some good books to read as you start your fire safety week! {You can find these on Amazon using my affiliate link}

My students also love to create their own fire truck and we talk about the importance of “stop, drop and roll”.

I also found some great songs from Barbara at Grade Onederful that are perfect to teach during fire safety week!

See what I mean!? So catchy!

We also work on our writing by writing about how we can stay safe and our safety plans.

Finally, we make these little emergent readers to practice our sight words and counting.

You can find the craft, writing templates, and emergent readers as part of my Fire Safety Week unit. There’s enough in there for the whole week!
