More about this resource
These sight word task cards are a great way to help your students practice reading and writing sight words in context. With these cards your students can practice reading sight words, manipulating sight words, writing sight words, and reading the words in a sentence. The sentences are fairly easy to decode and include picture support when needed. These make the perfect sight word literacy center, guided reading group activity, morning work center, or fast finishers activity.
How to use:
Print the task cards, cut them apart, and laminate them for durability. There is a color clip art option as well as a black & white clip art option. If you’re low on colored ink, you can also print the black & white pages onto colored paper. You can place the task cards out individually, or group them together with a binder ring.
Set out magnet letters or letter beads and have your students build each sight word. Then they can use a dry-erase marker to trace the word in the sentence at the bottom. Finally, they can read the sentence aloud or to a partner.
