More about this resource
Matching sounds to letters is such an important skill when teaching young learners how to read. This fun activity is perfect to help your students listen for sounds in words, and match them to letters.
During guided reading groups, I have my students verbally tell me the picture they see on the card. This way I can make sure they know what the picture is and if they can hear the sounds correctly. After they tell me the picture, I have them write the letters with a dry erase marker. If your students aren’t quite ready to write the letters, have them use a magnet letters instead.
This activity would also be great to put in your literacy centers!
You can also find these activities in my Guided Reading Intervention Mega Bundle! It includes several activities that I use to help my students during guided reading at 30% off!
