When I started this little blog 3 short years ago, I never, even once, thought of the adventure it would take me through. Yes, it is lead me to become a better teacher. Yes, it has allowed me a creative outlet. But most of all, it has brought me some of my best friends.
Kristin is no exception. She is hilarious, generous, caring, strong and forgiving. She opened up her classroom to me, she opened up her home to me, she even opened up her heart. She helped me get through one of the toughest years of my life. She is my best friend.
I still remember the night that she sent me this heartbreaking text. One of her students, her babies, was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. I didn’t know what to say.
I would ask her periodically how she was holding up. She said it was hard, she didn’t want to cry anymore. I didn’t know what to say.
She asked me one night, “How am I supposed to get through this?” I replied, “God chooses carefully. He knows you are strong enough to do this.”
She is. She is one of the strongest women I know. With a huge heart. Literally 😉
So when I started this blog 3 years ago, I never imagined the impact we could have. How we can come together, and form a community, a strong community, to help others.
Kristin is organizing a fundraiser to help raise money for Jon’s family. If you are willing to help, please head over to her blog and read her story. For the love of Jon.
